The main causes of sagging moisture

Penetrating damp is created by the rainwater seepage through the walls without a cavity. If there were a cavity wall, it would be impossible for rainwater to work its way horizontally into the interior space. Here, the cavity has an important function as ventilation for the moisture that has passed through (as an outlet for the water vapor).

Open butt joints or vents in the facade that are clogged with dirt or fake mortar can also be a cause of poor cavity ventilation. This can cause a combination of penetrating moisture and condensation still provide moisture transport to the interior walls.

Finally, a moisture bridge can also be caused by construction errors in which joints form between the interior cavity wall and the exterior cavity wall. Possible construction defects may include mortar residue in the wrong places or stone residue in the cavity. The presence of these types of invisible construction defects is detected by Aquaconsult as part of the free moisture diagnosis.
