An air conditioner without an outdoor unit, also known as a monoblock air conditioner, is a type of air conditioner that has only an indoor unit. How does an air conditioner without an outdoor unit work?

A monoblock air conditioner draws in warm air by means of a fan. This warm air then goes to a heat exchanger, where the refrigerant will evaporate. This causes the drawn-in air to cool. Then the cooled air is blown back into the room. The heat is further delivered to the outside air through a grille or a hose, depending on the type of air conditioner without an outdoor unit.
