What is the Flemish renovation premium?
Anyone renovating or converting a house in Flanders can apply for various premiums and subsidies. The umbrella Flemish renovation premium is one of them. This Flemish renovation premium can also be used for works by Aquaconsult.
Who is eligible for the Flemish renovation premium?
There are two different possibilities: you can apply for a Flemish renovation premium as a resident, or as a landlord.
As an occupant, your domicile must be in that house and you must be of age. In addition, you may also be the holder of another right in rem, such as usufruct. The Flemish renovation premium is therefore not applicable to a second residence.
As a landlord, you must have a contract with a social rental agency for at least 9 years. And you are no longer entitled to the Flemish renovation premium in the last 3 years of the contract.
For applications beginning Jan. 1, 2022, you may not have earned more in 2020 than
- 46,170 euros for a single person
- 65,960 euros for a single person with one dependent. That 65,960 euros is increased by 3,700 euros for each additional person they have dependents
- 65,960 euros for cohabitants and married couples. Again, that amount increased by 3,700 euros for each person you have more dependents.
How is your income calculated?
This is the income from two years before the application. Are you making your application in 2022? Then it's about 2020 income.
To calculate the income, they take into account the income of the resident as well as the income of all adult persons with whom he or she is living at the time of the application. So if you have adult children who are still living at home while already working, that income is also taken into account.
Income consists of a sum of various incomes:
- The living wage
- Taxable income (joint and separate)
- Professional income obtained abroad

How much will the Flemish Renovation Premium be in 2022?
The renovation bonus is 30% for both landlords and owners. For owner-occupiers, it is a minimum of 1,250 euros and a maximum of 3,333 euros.
For landlords, it is only a maximum of 3,333 euros.
Those premiums are by category. There are four categories and moisture control is under category 1: the structural elements of the home. The premium is paid within 12 months of your application.
How can I apply for the renovation grant?
Once the works are finished, you can apply for the Flemish renovation premium online through the site https://formulieren-wonen.vlaanderen.be/. You can also apply for the premium on paper. You can find the form 'Application for a renovation premium for a house' at https://www.wonenvlaanderen.be/.

We all want to protect ourselves and our families from corona as best we can. Balanced ventilation and ionization are good tools for that, but what is the difference between balanced ventilation and ionization? And how do they help clean the air keep your home corona free?
The coronavirus and ventilation
Ventilation is not only a solution to moisture problems such as condensation moisture. It is also employable in the fight against coronavirus.

What is ionization?

What is the difference between balanced ventilation and ionization?

How does ionization technology work?
Ions are positively or negatively charged molecules. The technology produces billions of electrons per second that attack microparticles in the air. Among those microparticles, therefore, are viruses such as coronavirus.
The ions cause the microparticles to cling to each other, making them heavier and sink to the ground. This prevents people in the room from inhaling those microparticles.
Scientifically proven: ionization works.
That ionization works in the fight against coronavirus has been scientifically proven. The designer of the technology (Global Plasma Solutions) had an independent scientists test the ionization on various viruses and bacteria.
Specifically, the scientists examined how quickly the spread of viruses is reduced when exposed to ionization. Coronavirus was reduced by as much as 90% after a one-hour exposure to the ionization technology. So it is definitely worth investing in.
